Okay so I have a juvenile Jellybean Parrot Cichlid. (He seems to be more convict though because his mouth isn't as deformed) He's about 4 inches I would say from tip to tail

    15 Gallon Tank
Aqueon 20 Filter (Soon adding my Whisper 10 to add more filtration)
Bubble wall airstone to help oxygenate the tank.
100 Watt Heater (Water kept at 80 F constant)
    Gravel Substrate
25% Water changes and gravel vacs once a week.
Fed 2 Cichlid pellets and a frozen baby shrimp twice a day (Does dances for more)
He's solitary because he ate his dither fish (3 zebra danios) whole.

My question becomes, would he eat a small crayfish? Or would it hurt him?
I know most cichlids just flip em over and eat them, but seeing that he's a hybrid I wasn't sure if this trait typically carries over into this species.

Crayfish should not be placed in tanks with fish

You want him to eat the crayfish? Putting one in the tank will put the fish at risk of injury

FYI >>>15g is too small for a parrotfish.

for juvi's I wouldn't go below 30g and for adults a min. of 55g as they can get up to 8"

Next...to answer your question their usually peaceful so I wouldn't do the crayfish as HE may harm your parrot.

I agree dawn, and I ended up deciding against the crayfish anyways because of the fear of it hurting Chubbs

Not that all parrots are like this but I once had a jellybean that must have been a blood red before they 'made' it into a jellybean and he was mean as hell. He ended up killing a molly, a jack dempsey (that was larger than him), and a firemouth before I sold him to a LFS.
And as far as his diet... he seems to only like pellets and worms. He didn't like the brine shrimp or live black worms for some reason...

hmm..parrots can be semi aggressive, but in my experience have always kept to themselves. And live brine always went over big with mine.
