pleco with dempseys

    what if any pleco can i safely put in my 55g with a breeding pair of dempseys? i have a fairley bad algae problem right now and scraping just isnt cutting it.

    Assuming the JDs are aggressive toward the plecos that list will tell you what plecos can go in your tank. :D

    You should be able to buy a Bristlenose Pleco that is as big or bigger than your Dempseys. It will do fine...

    i guess my question is will the dempseys kill the pleco when they lay eggs?

    I don't agree...bristlenoses get to be only 4" and obviously Jacks get much larger. Put some other ucky pleco in there (yes, I show favoritism towards the bristlys because I have them) :)
