I've never heard anyone ask that before. Having never had my nails done :) I'd say as long as they're dry they'll be fine.

    :)

I've seen fish tanks in nail places before. I don't think you have anything to worry about though. Just rinse your hands off in warm water before you stick your hands in there to be safe.

Don't wash off your skin, that would be a real problem. :)

LOL at all the previous stuff :)
I rarely do my fingernails, since I'm either grubbing around in aquarium gravel or have my special kids picking at the polish, but my take has always been that if you can't smell acetane or polish or any of the other goop, you shouldn't have to worry about putting your hands in your tank.
Now, I have had fishes peck at my nails when they're too colorful or shiny, but that's a cich thing. :D

You should always have clean hands when putting them in your tank. Use a mild had soap, I would not suggest antibacterial. You could always get a pair of arm length aquarium gloves from Dr foster smith site for like 15 bucks.

I prefer to not use soap before my hands go into the tank, I would hate to find out that I didnt rinse all the soap off the hand way, I wash my hands with water only.
