Ridiculous Thoughts...(Ex. convert hot tub/spa into pond?)

    Rediculous thought...
    I was wondering if anyone has ever converted an old hot tub/spa into a "pond"? I mean its got an adjustable heater (might not go that low but a mod could be done Im sure), pumps to keep water circulating, and a filter system. Am I crazy for thinking you can have an outdoor pond year round?

    Humm that's a great idea actually ! I've never seen anyone do this but I bet it could be done.

    I was just thinking about all the free old hot tubs listed on CL and then about that guys red tail, the interesting thing would be the different levels the seats would create in the pond.

    Those seats would make a nice area for some heavily potted pond plants, plus the easy access to maint. them. That would be Sweeet!

    How many gallons is a large hot tub though ? 500ish ?

    im not sure, I guess it depends on how many seats its got etc.

    i was planning on doing thant but its my 100 gallon+ aggresive tank with fh and arownas and maybe some other fish then a nice 55 gallon+ discus tank then come the koi pond
