    The Danios are still alive and the plants are growing...a little brown algae on the sides and some green algae on the rocks...thanks for the help guys...this a big difference from the mess the kids brought home from the carnival...I included a crappy cellphone until I get some better shots

    omg. the photo is soo tiny..I can barely see anything!

    LOL...I'll see if I can get a better shot...those are live plants by the way, except for one...why did you put this post in non-planted......

    Let me try again...another crappy cellphone pic...I just noticed the Danios disappeared before the shutter closed...oh well...

    I like the gravel (different blues) and is that lava stone arches?

    Yea, that was the kids idea...so the fish would have something to swim through...they picked the gravel as well...Daddy just paid...

    awe. too cute! They did a good job imo.
    and swim throughs are always a great idea (gives them a hiding spot).

    LOL...no Dad things he has been bitten by the bug and will try a bigger one with some Cichids but have a whole lot of reading and research to do...

    Lots of useful info in the cichlid section to help you out.

    Also, currently working on a chart <a class="postlink-local" href="http://www.theexoticfish.com/freshfishreq.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">freshfishreq.php</a> that will link you to additional information and a photo of said species which will also prove helpful.
