Go with the 3rd one, it's basic silicone.

Go for the 10oz. If you don't use it all just stick a nail in the end of it.

    Re: tank

in a way it does. It provides silicones OTHER than the "aquarium labeled" silicone that is at times more difficult to find.

I linked it here in case others came across this thread and were looking for "sealants".

Hold on...now I'm confused. You have two seperate questions on silicone? Just use the GE Silicone I to build your aquarium. I think I might be lost here.

    Re: tank

ok...just reread this again to hopefully clear the fuzzies and caught on to something. You're building these from plexiglass right? Shouldn't use silicone to seal plexi tanks. They will eventually leak over time. Plexi has to be bonded together.

    Re: tank

You may want to double check this. ;o)

GE 1 is not mildew resistent.

    Re: tank

no need to check, have both 1 and 2, I use 1 for my bathroom as it resists mildew, and 2 for aquaria structure, backgrounds, reseal if need, etc etc

    Re: tank

You don't want to use anything that says "for kitchen or bath" as they contain fungiside. Anything that says mildew resitant/inhibitor...stay away from.

GE I Window and Door 100% Silcone is the product of choice by 95% of the hobbists out here. I may be mistaken but I believe GE I is the same product that All Glass uses. It has also been mentioned around the horn that GE I is also repackaged as their Aquarium Sealant which of course allows them to increase the price.

    Re: tank

All Glass used GE Silicone 1 for many year but switched to DAP after GE stopped labeling Silicone 1 as "suitable for aquariums" not because of any change to the product but because they no longer wanted the liability
