i decided to use a 10g i had been soaking driftwood in as a scud tank and yesterday i put a huge amount of water sprite in their and today i noticed some planaria and little white bugs or somethin cruising around on the glass. they seem to small and move too fast for planaria but im not sure of that. there was nothing besides wood in that tank and some old tannic water. not sure if they are little planaria or what. i was thinking of using the fenbendazole method if thats the case but if they are copepods?? maybe or somethin else i dont think thats the way to go. if anybody knows what im talkin about i need some help. thanks

sounds like the Planaria worms and copepods (bugs).
They usually appear in a dirty tank.
Do large water changes to get rid of them.
    I'd shoot for 50%

im not so sure now that i see any planaria... i used to have a problem with them in one of my tanks but i think i got rid of them. maybe thats just what i thought i saw at first who knows its kinda late :) now that i think about it the copepods are probably from the plants in my shrimp tank and are just eating the stuff off the glass i never scrubbed, it has the residue from evaporation still on the glass from when it was a soak tank and i all i did was siphon water from my 55 above it to fill it back up. anyway are the copepods a danger to anything? i have my single walmart rescued femal betta in the tank now i figured she would like all the plants(about 5in of water sprite over half the tank) and i saw here eat a couple of them. im putting scuds in there as soon as they get here so maybe they will eat them?

p.s. i know you keep dwarf shrimp and i was wondering if you knew if they eat fry or eggs, i wanna breed cpds but the only spawn tank i could use is my rcs tank.

The RCS will not bother either eggs or fry. Unless of course they are dead then they would clean up the mess. ;o)

As for planaria and copes...no harm. Routine maintenance will take care of them. Hydras could pop up too. All just a sign of a less than perfect tank. If you have high lighting...you could get some UG and they may feed on the little critters. ;o)

as james said. Red cherry shrimp won't bother a thing (unless it's dead).
And no harm with the copepods.
