We Were Hacked!

Well guys as you can see we were hacked! They hacked into my hosting account and added an index.html file with what I'm sure you all saw. "Hacked by Spyder Team" or whatever. I called my host and they were like "Well, we have to submit a ticket to the security team and let them handle it." I asked how long that would take and they had no idea, so I took matters into my own hands and fixed it all!

To whom ever thought it was funny to hack me. You'll get yours, don't worry. Your IP address was logged and proxies won't hide you!

 

Clearly they were idiots. If they were real hackers they would have deleted my databases and everything, not just added their HTML file.

 

Apparently they're Aerobic or something. Their hackers "forum" has some weird language on it.

I was too! I changed every password related to my hosting account and this forum. My original password wasn't easy either. It was 6 random letters and 2 numbers.

 

HostGator is on the forum as I type this...

 

Here's their response to my ticket.

The account password was used to place a malicous file (removed) and to upload a
defacement HTML page.

Here's some info on the IP address that got access to my account.

The Ebene Cyber Tower One is a 12-storey, 72m tall commercial building located in Ebene Cyber City, Mauritius. The blue glass and gray stone building has been awarded the “Intelligent Building of the Year” by the Intelligent Community Forum (ICF), USA in 2005. The IBMS (Integrated Building Management System) for this building was conceived and implemented by Race Technologies, a company based out of Chennai, India.

The reinforced concrete tower which was completed in a period of only 18 months is a fully air-conditioned building with a surface area of 42,275m². Situated in a residential zone and at about 10km south of Port Louis, the country's capital, the Ebene Cyber Tower One is part of a plan by the Government of Mauritius to develop information and communications technologies as a fifth pillar of the nation’s economy.

India's prime minister Dr. Manmohan Singh inaugurated the Ebene Cyber Tower One on April 1, 2005. Nearby, construction on Cyber Tower Two has already ended and the latter should include very modern features just like Cyber Tower One.

I'm waiting to see what action HostGator is going to take against the user who did this.

 

I just banned that whole island from my server. LoL

 

Yeah I know! Luckily they didn't delete anything because my backups were on my other laptop.

I have a 500GB external hard drive. I'm going to start using it. LoL
