I really want to know what species of fish this is. I use to think it was a wolf cichlid but it isn't.
By the way I don't mean the pacu.:D

I totally suck at ID's but I will most certainly see what I can do to help identify it for you. It does appear though to have some stress barring.

Yeah i recently gotten it from a friend, and in about 2 weeks it started acting like it was getting ready to spawn cause it was moving rocks, and plants. It now has eggs in her mouth but idk if it can self fertalize or something since i have no other of the same species. So i wanted to know what it was. I've been looking around on the internet, but so far i had no luck finding it.

If you have had it for 2 weeks it may be holding but it is not possible the eggs will be fertilized.

hi wolf, welcome to the forum. your fish looks to me like it may be a cross between a jack dempsey and red terror or a dovii and red terror cross. how big is this fish ?

Could be a hybrid, but to me it looks a lot like a type of Tilapia. Besides the Pacu, what else in the tank with her?

def a mouthbrooding (if there are eggs in her mouth) female tilapia
... from old books I would say Mozambicus (spelling?)
this fish is so low priced I suspect it is a food fish farm refugee...
but, might make a good pet
