why are my fish doing this?

    why are my fish doing this?

    I noticed my catfish and my frog darting to the top of the tank, like they are getting air. I have been doing water changes and dont know why they are doing this. the platies are doing fine it is just them. can anyone help.

    this is the 5 gallon tank correct? and hasnt been set up long has it?

    put an airstone in the tank, it might help.

    the fish have been in the tank for 7 or 8 days and the tank was set up a few days before i got fish. there are plants in it too.

    like ink said add an airstone couldnt hurt

    what type of airstone? is there a particular size i could use?

    i would put one of those small round ones in the corner, under the gravel, decoration...etc.

    depends on how you want the bubbles to look i use the 4 inch round ones and place it under the gravel so you dont see it juts the bubbles comming out

    ok. well i am looking at petsmart and trying to find one that will work. i thought i had one but i guess i dont.

    believed to be lack of water circulation and possible oxygen issue.
