    Here are the entries for April's Photo Contest. Keep in mind guys, we will be having these monthly again. For those who are participating for the first time this month you can vote only once, and the images are numbered BELOW the photos but are also in order 1-whatever from top to bottom. Hope that makes sense. Remember, you can click the images to enlarge them if you'd like.

    I just wish they would live longer then they do, I keep like 5 or 6 pyrex bowls for them new ro water daily ect, they live about 40-50 days then poof.

    Thanx ^^; And it's not blurry if you just look at the thumbnail =P (I need a good camera to take underwater images with!)
    I <3 Horseshoe Crabs!!! One day I'm a have a big saltwater tank with some and a few hermit crabs! Some Shrimp... Maybe a lobster... Can you guys see what my favorite group of animals are? =P
    If you start them at a high temperature range, and slowly drop the temp, it will prolong there lives, but will stunt there growth. The ones in the image lived to be about 80 days old. (Winter came =P)

    I got a few bags of eggs here still, kinda neat, great science or evolution learning for my kids. They dont see it with the guppies "miracle of life" but the suspended animation eggs rock their socks.

    I hear ya. I brought those Triops to a Biology class and talked about them. Everyone actually listened to me =D
    (I'm gunna go to college and get a degree in Biology and Teaching. I want to be a high school biology teacher, why I'll never know, but I hope I don't end up drowning my students!)

    #8 mini horse shoe crabs is what they look like to me....you need shrimpys..not crabbys! Cherry ones are neat and live longer :)
    #9 I've seen ones like this at my lfs, they are soo pretty when you see them up close, he/she looks kinda grumpy in the photo :)

    "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder." Hey the crown tail Betta was a walmart rescue. Unfortunately he found the smallest hole in the top of the tank a week ago and the kiities attcaked quickly. His fins were filling in and turnig a beautiful blue. The pic was taken 1 hour after I brought him home. May he enjoy the peaceful waters of eternity.

    Dawn, no those are the 3yo pair I got, next month I will unleash the blues brothers, or maybe my platinum barred blues.

    the fry from a while back are very close in size though. very close, pecking order disruption close. No BS Kens angel flake and hikari frozen foods(bloodworms,daphnia,beefheart,spirulina brine) and occassionally a turkey heart ground to paste, cleaned of fat and veins.

    For the record, the antler is for sale. best offer + shipping.........real bruiser right rack, perfect tines BASKET RACK.

    It holds moss very well, as well as eggs, my angels loved the tines to spawn on.

    thanks dawn...the fry (there is 6 total) in this pic were a "surprise" find in the main tank, they weren't from the other batch, none of those made it when the heater malfunctioned (lost 32 fry). the large one in the pic is the mama, she was getting harassed too much so we put her in with the fry until we can get her a tank. i think i may have the wife talked into setting up an all female tank.

    Yay! I FINALLY won one. Lol!
    Thanks for the congrats...that's my favorite one out of the 9 discus (I think it's a red scribble?)...after I seen how gorgeous that one turned out I wish I woulda bought 9 of that same exact one!
