The addition of Co2 made a huge difference!

With a planted aquarium that is very large and with lots of gallons of water, the addition of a good carbon dioxide unit made a lot of difference with the health and the growth of my plants. Without the CO2, they don't seem to thrive very well. You can use some of the liquid additives like the stuff from Seachem's but I don't think there is any substitute for a good CO2 unit. You can even DIY a CO2 effuser in the aquarium and your plants will love you for it.
