Purchased 1 new ballast today... its a 4 bulb T8... Its now a ODNO ballast powering 2 bulbs :)

I see a HUGE difference in lighting... the ODNO is almost blinding!!! :) (love it!)

I paid $20 for the ballast.... now in a few weeks I will get 2 more of these ballasts... I think this is THE BEST DIY project for tanks!!! LOVE IT!!!

I have never found a down side to this project besides the space problems in most stock aquarium hoods but you get more light and bulbs last a lot longer for a few dollars and a little time If you want to play a round try driving T-8 @ 4X then they are scary bight

I bet I know what it is... lol

    | Red Blue ------ Red Blue | on one clip

    | Yellow Empty ------ Yellow Empty | on the other clip

The 2 bulb is 2 blues to one end and 1 yellow with a jumper on the other end and the other bulb is the same but with the 2 reds....

I doubt the wife would let me burn that amount of money... but I guess I could do that to a bulb or 2 at some point... lol... in the great words of Tim the Tool Man Taylor "Power, More Power!!!" :)

Those 2 bulbs that I put on were insanely bright themselves... as a matter of fact the color spectrum looked more blue with the added brightness as well too... I would imagine that is better for the plants going from 6500 color to around 7500 color (maybe I was just seeing things) :)

I moved my Red Wendtii over to the right hand side of the mound that I built and added a Red Tiger Lotus front and kind of center where the Crypt used to be.

I will see if my current lighting will support the Red Tiger Lotus... that is why I wanted to bump up my lighting a bit.

Ill add some pictures once this plant grows out a little bit... right now it only has 2 medium size leaves and one new small one

They are so fragile once they get that big that shipping was probably out of the question.

You know, its amazing! That Lotus (Lilly) has doubled in size in the few days I have had it... I got it with 2 leaves and a small leaf coming out.... all 3 of those leaves are large now and I have 2 more leaves coming out now...

I guess this plant will work in my tank :) Usually IME new plants die back a bit before taking off in growth... this just took off... It almost scares me how quick it grows!

Also with the ODNO lighting on my tank my Crypts (Red Wendtii) are growing better now too... My Amazon Swords are more lime green in color than they used to be and algae is still pretty low at the moment... I am liking whats happening in my tank in the few days I have had it like this!!!

I will get some pictures of it tonight when I get home...
