    Honestly the Mayan Jade is a BEAUTIFUL fish... the one thing I dont like about it is its bars... My fav is that last Heckel (the bottom one) as it shows every color that makes most Discus you see today....

    The stress bars on the Mayan Jade are not straight. That is her ONLY flaw... takes her away from being a "show" fish... :(

    A little later tonight I am going to take 1 more picture of my tank as I moved a piece of driftwood...

    What I am then going to do is repost all of my pictures onto one post so you can see the lifespan of this tank back to back over the past several months. I went through this thread and I was amazed at how much this tank has changed....

    There were some older photos and layouts I liked better than the one I currently have but it is nice to change things up! I have a total of 11 pictures and the one tonight would be 12... of course I am missing a few layouts that I have done but this gives the main point..

    I have had some issues with one/two of my Heckels... while on another forum (Discus Related) it was brought to my attention that perhaps my 125 is UNDERSTOCKED causing stress to my Heckels... I threw my 5 Marlboros back into my 125... (it was neat because removing them from the bucket they let me catch them with my hands with less stress than the net...)

    Anyhow I now have ALL my Discus back in my 125 together... photos soon as promised in the last post....

    Ok... Here are my parameters at the moment... still working on the photos....

    Tank parameters:
    PH - 6.4
    KH - 35
    GH - 75
    Nitrate - 15
    Nitrite - 0
    Ammonia - 0
    Temp - 90 (I kept it at 86 before and all fish seem less stressed @ 90)

    I like 9 myself... but the mess in the substrate that I could not vacuum caused a HUGE water quality issue.... Im kinda rethinking how to get back to that point with other plants... as you see the tank has been back and forth over the past 6 months

    Don't worry, has been back and forth with the 90g too.
    I feel ya on wishing you could get back to one point or another
    <--for me it was the point just prior to the hubby "cleaning" the plants. I was "Almost" happy with it then :)

    I dont think you or I will ever be "happy" with our tanks! :)

    Its strange with all the fish back in the one tank again... the funny part was before I left yesterday to go see my brother in VA Beach ALL of the Discus but 3 Heckels had their Ovipositors out.... Nothing will happen and nobody will pair... I am kind of used to it now though.... I still wish they would for once but....
