I changed my tank a bit yesterday. As you see the aquascaping is a bit different. I moved most of the plants away from the back glass... I stirred the sand and peagravel together... and moved a few rocks a pieces of driftwood

Also if you look you will see the Mayan Jade and the Marlboro sitting over the wood keeping the other discus away... thats the pair and the "nesting site" they have planned at this moment... I am not sure exactly where they are going to do it but they have been cleaning the driftwood and a rew swords in the area too... also (sigh) they have been trying to clean a filter intake... I HOPE they do not spawn on it....

    We will see!

After looking a the picture for a while, I think I am going to "mound" the substrate on the "island" if that makes sense so it is on a hill so to speak instead of the level substrate all the way across...

Thank you... I just finished the mounding of the substrate... Gotta wait an hour or so to take a picture for the "dust" to settle... :)

WOW is my sand at the very bottom nutrient rich! I noticed LARGE areas of blackened sand... what this is, its where my fert tabs broke down... I have dosed about 4 dosings of fert tabs and the blackened areas are where I have put them before...

Ok today I moved my substrate around... I still want to add sand in the low areas to make an "island" but my discus are spawning so I cant get to the tank to get to more sand as I dont want to disturb them while spawning.
