I have a breeding trio of albino bushy nose plecos, pygmy cories and ottos. The plants are red tiger lotus, crypt wendtii, java moss, christmas moss, flame moss, sunset hygro, skinny vals and some hair grass. There is more but I have since forgotten the names. We have a great planted forum here in AZ if you are interested in it let me know.

2 cups sugar 1 packet yeast and 1 tbsp baking soda. It actually lasts for about 2 months. I use it connected to one of the small power heads to bust up the bubbles.

You may need to buffer your water a bit to raise the KH - low KH contributes to pH swings - it stabilizes pH.

Or, if your plants are thriving and your fish are not gasping or stressed, I'd not worry about it, honestly. My motto is, "treat the tank not the test kit."

MikeJ your tank is lovely- very natural looking and aesthetic!

very nice looking tank! I have bushy plecos also and can't wait until their old enough to start breeding :)
Do you have any caves in there for them to breed or just all plants?
(thought I might have caught a coconut shell with moss grown on it in the front right)

There is a cave in there, it is hidden in the back of the tank where you can't see it. It is made of clay. Try playing some Barry White to get them to breed. lol.

wow! I use a small DIY type CO2 device by jungle labs with small tablets that are like alka seltzer. I use a tablet daily which is expensive...
I'd much rather do something similar to yours (I'm sure its way cheaper!!!)

Your lotus looks really good and I envy it very much!
