    haha how much you paying just rememebr they are really rare and they are hard to find make sure their not Pterophyllum scalare altume otherwise known are peru altums they have almost the same caharacteristics but the bars on altums look more bright and clean (in my point of veiw) and they are also a lot bigger dont get riped off [banghead] [banghead] [banghead] also the sclare is a silver angels( i think you have some so you should know) ive tried looking for these and i found them on one site for 39$ each for dime sized ones but i didnt really trust it so good luck with yours remember to post pics!!!! ;) ;) ;) ;)

    here a good youtube vid on true altums their pretty big for angels just their bodies their fins should be around twice the size of their bodies roughly

    Yeah I know... I have ran across that problem before... The best exotic freshwater fish pet store as far as livestock (Azalea Aquariums) in Richmond... he had that problem. He ordered from his distributor "Altums" and they called him and said "We are sorry, our supplier sent us Scalares instead (they are Peruvians). They have the same pattern as the Altums but there are some differences.

    Yeah I know the different Angels out there in freshwater... you have no idea how much I myself have read about the blackwater species of fish (Discus and Angels specifically)

    Yeah these are going into a 55 tank which is 24" tall. I chose these guys because of their size.... but I may go for the Peruvian Scalares if all else fails because you are 100% accurate, THEY ARE RARE!!! I have been calling TONS of freshwater fish resellers and not a one says they can get them now. The closest is Azaleas which I give the man credit, he would not sell the fish as something they are not! He could have but he did not. He bough Altums and even knew himself that they were not Altums....

    Ok... here is a photo of the hardscape... I have been trying to raise money and I think it is going to my 125.... (sorry I am a Discus fanatic and if I get rid of what I am trying to, I could get 6 of the Discus I have always wanted... Wilds....)

    Actually a Discus and an Angelfish! :) No... I picked 2 fish that were strong and went with it :)

    Yeah... in which case I would HAVE to wait on the Angels till I finish Quarantine! I WILL NOT put wilds right into my main tank.... I will have to put the Marlboro Red Discus back in the 125 and add the other Angel in with the pair (they did not pair) so 3 of them in the 30.... hopefully they will play nice :)

    I will then house the wilds in the 55 til I am sure they are safe in the 125.....

    Still planning on Altums in the 55 though.... just putting it off a bit more... I am in no hurry with this tank I would rather do it right then the first time than to have to start redoing things and selling things because I was not happy with it.
