    Re: My 90 gallon planted

I had 4 of them (that 1 you see in the photo offed the rest of them).
And they say to buy them in groups. Lol!

Thankfully I don't have aggression issues with him in the tank (I guess he just didn't like his own kind?)

Guess he wanted to me the only one so he could stand out.

Yeah, he made that real Obvious within the first 24hours.
At I think $4.99 a piece I was pretty ticked off at him for it though

    Re: My 90 gallon planted

After a day of disgust and removing the remaining corpses of the angels I decided to group the plants a bit tighter and believe it or not...am now thinking I could use some more plants!

Yes, I said it...i'm wanting more plants :)

Posting photos and if you have some extra unwanted plants..give me a shout ;)

Ps. Also planning on adding dwarf sublata in front of the log caves

It does look a bit empty compared to how it used to look.

Looking at your new Ludwigia Repens picture it seems that mine has quite a bit more pink in it than yours. Maybe your new lighting will help with that.

maybe, I noticed everything kinda went blah when I first got the fixture (improper lighting ..and those dang actinics surely did nothing to help)

    Re: My 90 gallon planted

algae...good or bad? I know "healthy" tanks should have algae...but what about spot and to this extent?

[help] One is the dreaded spot I'm positive of that..the other I'm not 100% positive if it's just the typical run of the mill green or not.

All tank parameters the same (think the tank knows it's going to get broken down?) [scratch]

Algae is normal... is the spot algae hard to get off with the sponge or does it come off easy... true spot algae does NOT want to come off... I have the spots on my tank glass and mine is just BG Algae growing in "spots" on the glass.... that stuff comes right off.

    Re: My 90 gallon planted

not sure on the sponge..this is the 1st time I've got any on it.
    Will be cleaning it tomorrow.

As for the wall...it's spot..and its a bleep to get off (have to use tom "razor" cleaning attachment to get it off as the mag-float does nothing to remove the stuff).

    Re: My 90 gallon planted

No I meant the cleaning sponge.... like the one that you wipe the inside glass off with....

You did answer my question and if you need a razor you DO have GSA.... The bad thing about that is there is not much that can actually eat that like the RBA I have.... I think snails work at that some but I cant remember...

Sorry to hear that and no what I consider the "healthy tank" algae is BGA.... definitely not any of the hard to clean/remove algaes!

Maybe your lighting is a bit too strong without CO2? Something is a bit off balance for a sudden outbreak! Even when you break the tank down... if you dont clean EVERYTHING with something like bleach solution... IT WILL BE BACK if you dont change your system to keep better balance.. I am in a similar situation myself...

    Re: My 90 gallon planted

i'll be doing the bleach cleaning (planned on it even before the gsa)
I dose with the excel...I'm thinking it was the lighting (actinics and now to plant bulbs)...hoping once I get it all set back up things will stabilize

(also heater isn't enough--so picked up 2 new 400w Hydors)
