    Updates

Figured I'd update the picts since I did with the 20 thread.

Amazon Sword Leaves pruned for a black fuzzish looking algae that keeps slowly growing around the tips edges of this plant in particular.

After reading up it seems this type of algae has an unknown cause and the best course of action is to remove the afflicted area/portions which I have done over the past few days.

Parameters were checked and everything is running right where it always does/has...so no nitrate issue like I had in the past with the green spot algae and ended up using Seachem De*Nitrate and a tweaking of the light schedule to fix since Algone did nothing.

Other than this minor bothersome issue, everything is going well in this tank besides the substrate being slightly harder to aggressively siphon and it's ability to hold more waste (in comparison to the pool filter sand- meaning when aggressively siphoning the pool filter sand once a week it would siphon "cleaner" showing little waste...whereas when aggressively siphoning the gravel once a week it shows more "wastes" and tends to be more difficult to get "perfectly"..or almost perfectly clean).

Yes, I know you can't get a tank spotless, but I try :)

I DID attempt to hide the flexible airwand on the far left side of the tank, but to no avail it keeps working its way back up to the top of the gravel...But then again I do have it as the only thing running on a rena air 400 set on max. Haha!

    Background Replaced

Ended up with a HUGE air pocket between the glass and background. Ugh!
More about that here--> SeaView Gel Review - is junk!

Well it aggravated me to the point I ended up pulling the background (man, was that a pain in the butt).
I originally was going to attempt to go with no background, but the site of the canister tubes would drive me insane.

Being I can't get behind the tank I came up with a shower curtain, which I slid up the tank from the bottom. That way I didn't have to pull the intake/outtake out. Anywho, it'll do for now.

    BRONZE CORYDORAS LAYING EGGS

And while I was snapping the above picts I came across a bronze cory that was laying eggs on the side glass (of course someone in the tank ate the eggs..grr!).

    Changes

    A few changes were made,
    1) Pulled the dolphin shower curtain and switched it for a White shower curtain liner from Wal-mart that I doubled $5.97
Which looks greyish blue-YUCK! and will be switched out as soon as I get back to the store (thinking of going with the $1 something banquet table cloths from wal-marts party section or the local dollar tree. That way I can buy several different colors to "test" without wasting too much money.
    2) Gravel was a pain in the butt to siphon and too much crud was gettting between it...unlike the sand which was much easier to keep clean...so being it was partial day I ran to the pool store and grabbed TWO 50Lb bags of pool filter sand which ran me $9.97 a bag.
    >The gravel that was in the tank will be used when I re-cement the sidewalks.
    3) I had the fish in a holding bucket and ended up loosing all 3 of my denison barbs..grr! Everyone else was fine.
    4) I ended up spreading out the plants more ... the amazon swords really needed more space!
    5) changed the layout a touch too, driftwood was placed on the far left as a sorta hideout...spraybars were placed back on the sides of the tank keeping the back less cluttered...lunar lights were mounted-1 to the wall and 1 taped with duct tape to the rear of the lt. fixture since I couldn't find the base for it, and ceramics - logs/slate/caves are all being disinfected ?still unsure if i'll put them back in or not.
    6) Removed the ac110 and will be storing it, I think I'll hold onto it for when/if I ever need to add carbon.

    What I'd Like To Add:

[*]more crypts for the left side (bronze wendtiis)..which I just bought off aquabid :D
[*]dwarf sublata for in front of the lrg. open piece of driftwood
[*]a bunch of Malaysian Trumpets Snails...
[*]maybe 2 more clown loaches since the lone guy has made it

hiya so if anyone has any of the above pm me.

Re: 90gallon Planted Discus Community Tank

I found a lt. blue plastic banquet tablecloth laying around and tossed that on the back...at least it doesn't give off a grey cast like the plain bright white shower curtain liner.

Not perfect, but at least it didn't cost me anything :)

    Angelfish

    Why thank you Raymond!

And here's a quick pict of the angelfish getting used to the tank (they made it through their 2 week quarantine). Yay!

I spy Angels hiding amongst the swords :)

Plants are supposed to arrive Saturdays from MikesWetPets.
I ended up getting a wendtii mother plant, a couple corkscrew vals, a bunch of purple cambomba, and a banana plant thinking this would "fill" in the few bare'ish spots.

    New Plants

    Plants arrived and look great!
I ordered from MikesWetPets this time (ordered from them years ago) and was still impressed.

Re: 90gallon Planted Discus Community Tank

Thanks! I've been wanting to add more but at $24 a clip for babies around here I've had to wait.
Thanks to Petsmart I was able to get several at like $4.45 a piece...and these were medium'ish size.
needless to say I was greedy and took every one they had raz

I picked up 3 at a petsmart a few days ago at the same price. I couldn't pass it up either even though I usually do not buy fish from petsmart.

    Rearranging

    Did a bit of rearranging,
due to the swords growing size I ended up using them along the back of the tank (just in front of the air bubble wand)...and also did some other minor changes being today was tank maint. day.

Tanks still a bit cloudy from mucking with it,
so I'll try to get a updated photo tomorrow if I remember.
