    BUTTERFLY CICHLID
    Also: Pelmatochromis thomasi

    Family:Cichlids, Chichlidae
    Characteristics:3 in, female somewhat smaller.
    Tank/Water:25g, water types 2-4, 76-83F.
    Care:Calm, reserved species for moderately bright aquariums with dense plantings in parts. Feed all standard foods. Keep in pairs in smaller aquariums.
    Habits:Common species in smallish, usually clear rain forest and savannah streams of Liberia and Sierra Leone. Pair-forming open spawner.
    Compatibility:With West African tetras (such as Brycinus longipinnis) and killifish (Epiplatys).
