releasing any fish in the wild from a different part of the world is a bad bad thing. They could actually thrive and end up taking over that body of water, killing off all native fish. If you do end up having to give them up, give them to a new home or to a lfs. Awesome cichlids though! I have a 55 gallon cichlid tank now, and absolutely love them. I noticed that you have a couple venestus in there as well (the yellowish ones with what looks like giraffe spots in image 95.jpg) those guys will also get huge, 10 inches or more. I have one...kind of an impulse buy due to their interesting coloration, but will eventually have to bring him to my lfs to trade him in when he gets too big.

i know but i dont think i seen a goldfish bigger then my head lol... i kept some goldfish in the past and they grew to a good 25cm from head to tail and they just grew so slowly after that... there is a size where they slow down so much that there is little difference... but thx for advice again guys :)

I generally don't respond to posts this old but I couldn't keep my trap shut on this one. Your tank is way too crowded and those fish have got to be stressed to the max. The two big fish should have this tank to themselves or the blood parrots or the africans but not all of them together.

i did a little research and i believe i got a name for your 2 large fish, they are a patenia splendida - common name - bay snook or red bay snook.

They almost look like a pink tilapia hybrid to me. Unfortunately species who readily intermix are difficult to id.
