African fry are pretty large when they emerge so any good quality, high protein starter food will work with them. They can take crushed flakes at that age

But most African Fry are about 5X larger that New World Cichlid Fry so they are EZ'er to rise

with my african fry i just take some of the food that i give to the adults add some flake, freeze dried bloodworms, algae waffer and crush it up really fine. mine really seem to like it, they'll swarm the surface when it's feeding time.
