    AGASSIZ'S DWARF CICHLID

    Family:Cichlids, Cichlidae.
    Characteristics:4 in, male larger and more colorful.
    Tank/Water:37.5g, water types 2-3, 79-83F.
    Care:Dark tanks, densely planted in parts, with several rock or clay caves. Keep one male with several females.
    Habits:Slow-flowing or standing water in the lowland rainforest of the Amazon. Lives there over the layer of leaf litter. Harem-forming cavity brooder. Takes smaller foods, especially small crustaceans.
    Compatibility:With characins that live near the surface or in the middle zone of the tank and an open-brooding dwarf cichlid species, such as Laetacara sp.
