I've never heard that, I've always heard they were the safest for planted tanks.

I dunno, I wonder about some of the workers there. I just took his word because he said he had a planted tank and tried them...and recommende the sae's to me because they apparently eat more bad stuff?

I always thought the ottos were cute too!

PetSmart had some really nice looking Otto Cats so I got 5 today. Usually every time I've seen them at other pet stores their tails are always damaged due to shipping and stress. These were perfect looking. I tested their pH and it's 7.5+. That's a big difference between theirs and mine. I've got them in a 5 gallon bucket slowly drip acclimating them. I'm going to try to take my time and let them drip for an hour or so.

I noticed the little sticker last time I was there but they were out. They had quite a few today so I snagged 5. I just checked on them and the pH in the bucket has dropped to about 7.0. Another 30 minutes and it should be about 6.5 so I'll add them to the tank and hopefully they don't die.

These Ottos are going crazy on that algae on the driftwood. They're pooping green every 30 seconds. LoL

That's what I think since their colors are so similar.

To my surprise all 5 Ottos are still alive. I expected to lose at least 2 overnight. They're all really active so maybe I'll get lucky and won't lose any.

Mr LemonDiscus needs to get over me having 7 nickle/quarter size Angels in a 20 gallon tank. I don't know why he keeps saying "you can keep them all if you get a 55 gallon tank". I don't want them all. :) I have 3 that are my favs that I'll keep if pairs don't form by the time they're too large to have 7 in the tank.

When I was at WalMart I noticed they had those cheapo pythons. I picked one up with I think about 5' of hose for $9.

They had some bettas that looked HORRIBLE. They were just mixed in with tank decorations. They were all laying on the bottom of the cup that had algae growing in it. There were some others behind the little sink with the fish, those looked okay. The ones on the shelf must be ones they've had for a while. :(
