If the fish are fine, water is testing well, and it's not getting worse I'd try purigen tied to the intake >>below where your hob water flows so it will basically push over the purigen if that makes sense.

I'd keep doing your regular maint and give it a couple days IF its not getting worse and the fish are fine...still leaning towards a bacterial bloom.

I'm going to do a large water change in a bit. I just took out the filter pad and cut two layers of the blue and white foam stuff (know what I mean?) and put that in place of it. It didn't seem dirty but when I placed it in my bucket and poured a few cups of water from the tank on it a lot of brownish sand type stuff came out. I'm beginning to wonder if I need the EX 70 over the 45. This filter seems like it's filtering well. I'm stabbing in the dark at this point.

I've never had a bacterial bloom before. Melafix won't fix that will it. Lmao

I just tried Kent Pro Clear in the tank to see if that was any better. After a few hours if it doesn't do anything it's water change time.

be careful, I wouldn't be doing a larger one...your risking stressing those angelfish..they're too small to stress with a large wc imo.

BE CAREFUL...and wait it out a bit longer.

Well by large I meant 50%, which I've been doing every few days anyway.

Do you know if the Safe Start did anything for your tank ?

I just did a 50% water change. It cleared it up quite a bit but I added some Kent Pro Clear anyway. I'll see how it looks after a few hours and let you know. I noticed when I removed the lights there was a slight odd film on the surface of the water and on the overflow part of the filter. It was kind of slimy but I think it may have been some left over Pima/Melafix that I dosed for a few days.

I fed the fish this morning so I'm going to skip feeding them tonight.

    sounds good, lemme know.

I don't know with the tetra product...haven't bothered testing since the fry are doing great and the water is crystal clear.

I'm happy to announce that my tank is crystal clear !

I can now see that some algae is beginning to grow on the driftwood. I need a pleco.

That's what I was thinking of getting. The Ottos are too sensitive and I really don't want to bother with them in the Angel tank.

If you want some just pay the Priority ship fee.
I can also send you some mts and plants with them if you want?

should be able too...have to catch them first. Lol.

Yeah, in the 90g...Read up and the fish in there currently should be compatible. Readings are spot on and with the acidic water I should be good to go (6.0 and prob a touch lower).

All I need to do is bump the heat to 82-84F and keep doing what I've been doing. The plants I have should be good to go in that heat range too from what I've read.

<==starting with gradual heat increase now to make sure everyone...and everything does well. If so, they I'll order the 2" ones for 10.95-16.95...thinking 4

Okay. My pH is at 6.3-6.5 without me adding anything. I'll drip acclimate them for an hour or two, hopefully they'll be okay.

After being in their bag for a few days the pH in the bag should rise a few points.
