Keep in mind if/when you go to see any of these tanks check the silicone to make sure it's soft. Ask when it was used last, if it leaked etc.

That stand/hood looks DIY to me, which isn't a problem if it was built well. What's "Just a few hundred dollars" exactly ?

ok so i called the guy about that tank he said his asking price is 3-400 and that he has some people coming to look at in the next few days, and if they don't take it he'd consider taking 250, is this an offer that i should not pass up and buy it for his asking price

I dont think thats a bad deal, ask what kind of lights it comes with, what kind of filters etc. In cali though you should be able to find huge tanks easy.

That's the same stand I have (using it for the 90g--black), I've been really happy with it...and the inner shelves can adjust using pins! I have my rena xp4 sitting in the left side (removed the adjustable shelf on that side obviously) & use the right side for storage of foods and what nots. I paid $129.99 for it less than a year ago at my Petsmart.

What does it come with though, everything could be a whisper filter, 48" light, and plastic tops. The one shes looking at could and I mean this is unlikely, but it could come with some nice lights w/ ballasts, high end canister, and a titanium heater. Sometimes the deals are in the extras and not just the tank. You should definetly always find out what the tank comes with and the condition of the tank when buying used. I got a 75 gallon tank, light, two heaters, and a canister filter for 90 bucks a while back, but thats an unlikely find.

Man, think of how much filtration media, chemicals, etc would run you!
I need a stand to reach my 90g...I'd need a full ladder to reach that beast!
But the posibilities you could do with that (defin would need a sump!).

The sad part is Dawn, that sump would have to be the size of my largest tank or bigger! :) Think using a 125 or a 150 as a sump :)

yup it would be one amazing tank, you would need a mansion size house to use that tank, it can barley fit in the person's garage

You could use a couple industrial sized trash cans as diy sumps/wet dries!
