just woundering if this would harm you tank.
My grandmother was telling me when she had fish that she would put seashell in her freshwater tank after she washed them. she said her fish never died. I was just woundring if that was even possable.

I just put them in a bucket of hot water and they them sit for a bit. If any needed to be scrubbed I used a toothbrush to do that.

As long as it doesn't have any type of glue it would be fine.

The glass figures ? Yeah, you can use a very small amount of bleach and hot water. With glass I wouldn't worry about it though. Just a quick rinse in hot water should be all you need with something made of glass.

bleach is chlorine wich kills baterica if you have tap water it is runnibg thru your pipes which is good for us but bad for fish.
But it does its job by killing unwanted things in your aquarium
therefore you soak what ever it is in bleach for a day kills the unwanted things on said object then rinse real weel with water and let sit<it disapaits in about 30 mins> and the object is ready for your aquarium and long as it doesnt dissolve in water your should be peachy.
Now for rocks found out side in the yard or what not drop some vingar on it if it fizzes its no good for the Tank if it doesnt then soak in bleach couple of days rinse in water then boil in a pot for about 20 mins let cool rinse again then you can add it to the tank

I don't think the glass figures thing is weird. I was just thinking the other day how cute it would be if I could find a tiny little realistic looking froggie to pop ontop one of the mounds of peacock moss ...

You could make like a zoo scene with lions and tigers and bears and then your fish could live with them or you could reenact your favorite wwII battle with the green army men!

Oh my gosh, we've got a million green army men around this house.

That's it. Tomorrow I'm going to pop some snipers and grenade launchers in stragetic positions amongst the rocks and jungle foliage and see how long it takes the kids to notice, lol.
