Has anybody had this happen to them in their saltwater or brackish tank? I reached to get my puffers clam out of his tank and now after doing so right as i pulled my arm out it burned sooooo bad, and now i have a really red rash in the area that it burns and normally my skin is fine touching the brackish water, anybody have similar experience?

Some people get rashes from the synthetic salt. As with anything else, your body can develop a sensitivity to it after time. Personally the salt doesn't bother my skin at all.

ok, but that's the weird thing, usually i'm fine with sticking my hand in there, but i did add some salt in the tank yesterday, maybe that might of had something to do with it

I hope you're not adding salt directly to the tank and measuring what you're putting in. ;)

I had that problem with saltwater. I was allergic to the point it triggered the asthma and couldn't breathe. Came home on oxygen and once it was gone..I felt 100% better almost immed.
I got the blochy red rash anywhere the water touched me (would burn then itch) and after that I would get tight in the chest.

We've never had any reactions from our tank the times we're in it, but honestly you shouldn't be reaching in anyway. We (humans) are dirty, dirty creatures :) (not to mention the antibiotic soaps most people use aren't good for the tanks either!)

We have a couple sets of aquarium gloves that go up to our shoulders that we use 99% of the time we work on the tanks to minimize contaminating them... cheap insurance!

I had those gloves (the blue ones with the orange hands/fingers)...my issue ran to when I had to touch the gloves to rinse them when I was done (ro/di) or any of the water that would splash.

    Wow that sensitive?! :(

I guess I probably shouldn't mention how many times I've started siphons on HOB overflow boxes and ended up sucking down saltwater . . .
