    BALA SHARK
    Also: Silver shark, Balantiocheilus melanopterus

    Family:Carp and minnows, Cyprinidae.
    Characteristics:14 in, male slimmer.
    Tank/Water:225g, water types 2-5, 76-83F.
Care:Group fish only for very large aquariums. Plenty of swimming space and few structures along the tank sides. Feed highly nutritious dry food containing plant matter, as well as small crustaceans as a frozen food. Keeping them in small tanks is animal cruelty!
Habits:Agile large barb from rivers and lakes of Southern Asia. Considered a threatened species in its native habitat.
Compatibility:With other larger fish of Southeast Asia.
