I appreciate the help too! Figured I would try the peroxide first.... less drastic than another break down which I would have lost some Cardinals doing that too

I did the last time I did it! (about 5 dead)

So to loose 4 more, it does not bother me..... I just wish I could find the body of the GBR!!!! That one is driving me NUTS! You would think a fish that large would not just disappear!

No, its gone! I fed them the past 3 days and have not seen it! ALL my fish swim to the front even if I step near it too look in the tank! They yell for food all day and would eat all day if they could! :)

My discus are chunky things! :) Their bellies are bloated out they eat so much (not bloat though, just stuffed fish!)

Like my fish :) Coming in front of the tank mooching for food. It's a fish's dream to eat all day :)

The only thing that scares me are them discs. Adding all this stuff to the water and then facing the possibility of yet another break down....yikes!

Believe it or not these guys are tough! I am more concerned with the Cardinals... they are not as hardy as the Discus!

    Re: Amano Shrimp

Well, my water is kind of cloudy with TONS of particles floating in it.... sounds like your experience Anthony

On the plus not most of the algae is REALLY red with white tips! [dancing]

There was another algae I noticed before treatment too... I did not say anything about it but it looked like my wifes hair (LONG and curly) and was kind of a reddish color, dark red!

It all now is cherry red and coming loose from what it is attached to.

That Magnum 350 will do its job though :D

That is all that filter is really good for, removing particles!

I dont have any floating around right now but I used to pick em out with a little net. That was a pain when I just got the tank :)

ehhh, I brushed some off of the driftwood, looks like I will need to treat again in a few days

I did read that you may have to do it over the course of a month or so.... (Treating 1x a week)

    Re: Amano Shrimp / Algae

Yes.... like I mentioned it was really coating most of my slower growing plants, rocks and driftwood!

I mean, its not like carpet, but everything has patches all over it

Much of it is kind of gooey now but some still is clinging on to whatever it grew on.

Oh okay. Yours sounds A LOT worse than mine was. I only had little strands growing on the plants.

    Re: Amano Shrimp / Algae

Yeah, its not really very good in there. The thing is it popped up in like 2 days time from nothing... the good news it is not spreading anymore now!

You really cannot see it from a distance, it isnt until you walk up to the tank can you notice all of the algae.... Again it is spotty on everything.... The growth on my filter intake seems to be the worst! That is the one that it wont come off of! I could always take off the intakes and bleach soak them :D That and the heaters
