    BLACK CALVUS

    Family:Cichlids, Cichlidae.
    Characteristics:5.5 in, females are much smaller.
    Tank/Water:62.5g, water types 5-6, 77-81F.
    Care:Singly or in pairs in rocky tanks with at least one cave (for example, large sea snail shells) into which the female fits, but the male does not. Feed live and frozen foods (small crustaceans), no dry foods.
    Habits:Predator of shrimp and small fish, found in rocky areas of Lake Tanganyika where there are many crevices in the rocks. A loner. Pari-forming cavity brooder.
    Compatibility:This species particularly recommended as a tankmate for larger Lake Tanganyikan cichlids.
