Black Skirt Tetras Knocked Up or Just Pudgy?

    Females not only get plumper but they get much larger than males. Even though your fish look a little overfed, I do believe that they are full of eggs too. :D
    These guys scatter their eggs so unless you put them in a tank by themselves there will be little chance of the eggs getting past all the hungry mouths in your tank. If I remember correctly they scatter mid-water....plenty of time for other fish to snatch them up.

    Yeah, they COULD be holding some eggs I guess. I still feel like they're overfed though.

    oh well, better overfed or full of eggs---or both...than anything else. I just never had the black skirt tetras and was wondering if its normal. But then again when I sit and think about it, none of my other pets are normal...so why should that exclude the fish. :)

    I've come to think that their just pudgy as a result of nabbing all the bloodworms when it comes to feeding time. They are definately always the first to the top of the tank at feeding time, no matter what's being served!

    Tetras dont get knocked up. They carry eggs. But that one is just overfed.
