    BLACK WIDOW/SKIRT TETRA

    Family: Tetras, Characidae.
    Characteristics:2.4 in, male smaller and slimmer. The shiny black coloration becomes less intense with increasing age and is replaced by dark gray.
    Tank/Water:25g, water types 2-6, 74-83F.
    Care:Keep this undemanding, peaceful species in groups (at least six to eight specimens) in loosely planted community tanks that are not too brightly lit. Accepts all small foods.
    Habits:Schooling fish native to shady, quiet flowing waters of the Rio Paraguay system in southern Brazil.
    Compatibility:Best with hardy dwarf cichlids, callichthyid armored catfish, and other tetras.
