Your going to have to order them, as with most cichlids (other than mbuna, oscars, convicts, and jack dempseys) they cannot be found in your average "fish store". Im not sure if you can order things or not yet, but this is really going to put a limit on what you can get if you cant.

An idea to order things online without a credit card, has anyone ever seen those visa gift cards that can be used for anything (legal that is), if you dont have a credit card you could buy one of these and then place your online orders!

AquaBid has a proven trio for sale also, although they may go pretty high. Sometimes it's a good bet to get a group of smaller ones, raise them up, and sell the ones you don't want to keep.

You may lose some, some might be better looking than others, etc. so if you get more than you want you can choose, also by getting 6 you can develop your own breeding trio, or quatro!

You can put up to 5 each of the lamprologus in a 29. Neither fish gets over 3 inches and stays at the bottom. Get some shells to scatter around the bottom and then add some cyps or tropheus and your good to go.

Just my two cents' worth; I'd think twice about tropheus. They're terrific fishes, when kept in large schools (like six or more), which would call for a much larger tank. From my experience, when you only have two or three they get very aggressive, and I'd bet they'd kill your lamps.
Cyps are fun fishes, but for visual interest I think I'd look for any of the julidochromis species. Nice markings, hardy little fellas and they don't pick fights. Or if you want to spend a bit more, altolamps are gorgeous. A trio of gold head comps is one of the prettiest sights you're gonna find an an African tank. ;)

If you want to keep your PH perfect just use 1 teaspoon baking soda for every 5 gallons of water. This will keep your PH dead nuts at 8.2 which will work for all african cichlids.
