cheap substrate for planted tanks?

    it's all good

    You might also want to look into Eco complete. it is a very fine sandy texture and contains the nutrients needed already. No buffering required, just pour it in 20.00 for a 20lb bag

    yea the plants i did get didn't do to well so i put my silver dollars in the tank and they had a feast! i don't know if it was my lighting or what.

    I keep plants in sand and have no problem with any of them (Java Moss, Java Fern, Stargrass, Anubias, Amazon Sword, Cabomba, and a few others) I do not fertilize, well I dont the fish do! :)

    Works well for me!
