Convict Breeding (Information & Advice Wanted)

    i got these 4 convict cichlids pink/albino one of them looks pretty messed up the gills are like going straight up(genetic mutation maybe?)well im wondering and good tips to make them breed and if they breed do the frys turn out black and white or since they both albino only albino frys?

    Did you sex them ?
    How big are they ?

    A picture would be good to see exactly what you're talking about with the gills.

    1) once a pair is formed remove the other two asap.
    2) all babies will be the pink/albino form
    3) are you sure the gills are mutated, or are they just flared out to show status in the tank?

    sorry but dont gota pic but the gills stick out a little like a V or a parrot there are to males and 2 females

    You should really only have 1 male.

    1 male to 2-3 females is best

    my bad i never new that but they seem to be living in a 40 gallon tank together they have tons of shelter though

    1 male to 1 female was the only combo I was able to get to work, the male and female that paired kept trying to kill the female in a 125.


    How big are they?

    When I had convicts years and years ago I had one male to 3 or 4 females. I had fry ALL the time.

    whats the difference between a pink jellybean parrot fish and a pink convict cichlid?????

    One is a Blood Parrot Cichlid and one is a Convict Cichlid... Colored parrot fish are dyed, don't buy them.
