    wait now im not sure how many males i got one for sure is female because its orange others not sure. when its orange its about to breed?

    They are always orange. At least my two marble convict females are.

    o any tips on when to know they are about to breed? dig holes perhaprs?

    They arent fighting each other, stay in a corner for a while together, really if you see two that are chilling together and keeping others out of one particular area, they are more times than not protecting eggs.

    Cons get extremely aggressive when they are about to breed....I've had 2 cons take over a 55G tank that had an 8" JD, and 5" FM in it...the cons were barely 2-3" big. They will normally not let any other fish come near the breeding site.

    I wouldn't mix convicts and angels.

    Would not do that. 2 highly aggressive pairs of fish and the angels will loose.

    angels highly aggressive? :) you could do a bichir, what size is the tank though, and what type of bichir?

    im not sure the only thing that cansurvive with my bichir is my kois even my tetras got owned and eaten (albino bichir) and does it mean anything when the male convict is diging holes in the gravel??

    That is what I meant.... it is not like they could do damage.... but they will try

    Like I said they will loose to a convict.

    they just laid eggs on a peice of slate im not sure if i should remove it or keep it there?

    leave them, and depending on if you want them or not, after they become free swimming remove them from the tank with a turkey baster and put them into your cycled growout tank.

    ah sorry, I forgot to say that you can feed the babies finely crushed flake foods, first bites (baby fish food sold at petstores), baby brine shrimp, and so on
