Convict Eggs: Need advice on how to care for them

    ill leave them in the tank there in right now i dont want to kill the fry when they hatch

    when do u think its going to be ok to move then ????? in a month or 2 ???????

    Yes... but just leave them in the tank for a while... if they live they live... if not they dont... you almost WILL kill all of them trying to move them before 2-3 months old!

    so will it be ok if i only move the parents after 3 months in another tank and just leave the fry in the tanks there in now??

    That would be the best way yes... you can take the parents out at 1 month or even less

    ohh really thats going to help alot

    if i put the parents in another tank with out the fry will the spawn again ???

    Yes.... MUCH faster than if they were to stay with them (like a week or 2)

    Remember though... where are you going to put the parents after the next spawn? What are you going to do with the fish if they all live (200+ babies per week or 2)

    i have no idea lol maybe i can find a pet shop that i can sell them to
    i never thought about it like that lol

    umm what bout if i leave the parents in a 29 gallon with there fry for a few months will the spawn again in the same tank as their fry ???

    No they will most likely eat them

    I dont know... that is one of the issues to spawning fish is tank space... you can t move the fry for a while... you cant mix spawns as they will kill and even eat each other if more than a few months apart.... more tanks... that is the ONLY answer I have ever found

    that will end the spawning for a while and would do good to let her rest!

    they moved them to a safer location, i've had over 20 batches in the last yr.. i keep my tank at 80 - 84 F.. deff.. bunnies of the waterworld lol

    You can leave your main filter on if you have a sponge you can put over the intake.
