Re: Mystery illness symptoms claiming my fish.

yeah I found this last post a bit Whack.

I have a 2800 L/H canister filter that has only been running for 2 months, I have a 5w UV sterlizer seperate to the filter that the return water runs through after its been through the filter.

the water is definately not stagnant (2800 l/h filter for 250L tank) but I do worry about water getting behind my latex 3d background maybe thes where the kaka smells is coming from.

To me is sounds like you need to seriously vaccuume the gravel, clean the filter media, remove the latex background and clean behind it. Dont do it all at once, Id wait a few days between cleaning the filter media and then doing the rest.

deemed bloat (internal heimita) and possible stagnant water due to improper maint.
