They keep them in a divided 100 gallon that has 1 other tank in a system.... 1 100 gallon tank (the one that these fish are in) has an overflow that drains into a 100 gallon on the bottom that they keep feeder goldfish in.... the system also has an external filter kind of like a pool filter...

Yes but because the tanks are linked together it is actually a 200 gallon (a 100 gallon with a 100 gallon sump)

Because also it is a pet store the employee that runs that side of the store is changing water as needed and testing daily..

At lest your telling them about the dye fish, may be you should do a print out on them for the store owner or the fish/aqua department manger to read.

Unfortunately in the world we live in greed out-weighs morality

ALL pet stores are in it for the money

If I owned a fish store I wouldn't sell them, person I like having morality, it would help build trust and good relationship need for the store.

yea I would most likely have one or two big pacu and oscars and have a sign or label that says spacial order only.

Have them big to let people get an idea of just how big they get.

Good point... its sad the number of people who dont understand...

PetSmart and PetCo screw with the customers by putting 10 in a partition the size of a 10 gallon tank.... Poor fish die a horrible death! I even tell customers about the Dyed fish and the Pacu and Oscars... I have sent a great number away from them! I dont feel bad at all!

The only thing that would make me feel bad doing that is, if I throw out of the store for good.

I have always worried about that... but I would rather honestly inform than to let them ignorantly buy them.

Saw these guys at a pet store I went to yesterday. Not only is it absolutely unattractive, but it's just the most inhumane thing you can do to an animal. It literally makes me sick to see that this is still allowed. You don't see white dogs or white cats tattooed to have hot pink colors, spots, and lettering, so why's it ok to do it to a fish?
