egg advice

    looking for any advice on angel eggs !! this is the first time we have had eggs ! i was going to leave them with the parents but today i see 1/2 of them are gone !!! mom & dad are still fanning them and seem to be doing ok..i noticed the eggs last night @ 7 pm ...how long will it be before they hatch?

    The ones they picked off probably had fungus and were not fertile... They did what they are supposed to from how it sounds.

    And 3 days to wigglers and another 3-4 til free swimming

    I am on my blackberry so I can't get the url but in cichlid central / south american I have a post on angekfish eggs

    is it better keep them with the parents? (thats what i wanted to do )

    You can and should try... Moving them is a pain and will result in a pretty high mortality rate.

    If you find you have to though you can.... I let mine stay with the parents. It also helps control the parents from spawning themselves to death.

    Its a sticky under Cichlid Central on this forum.... Then click South American and the post is like What to do with Angelfish eggs

    It's not unusal for young Angels to loose their first spawn or two till they get the hang of it.

    hi rick, i put the leaf in a breeder box inside the same tank..do you think that will help them any??

    Can't hurt any thing just keep some water movement going in the breeder net and keep any fungus eggs picked out

    I would put an airstone near the leaf to keep water moving as Rick suggested. Don't be surprised if you loose the rest

    they are still there..they havent turrned white..dont know if they will make it,but i hope so !!!

    If not and even if they do it is a good learning experience in fish husbandry

    i put a slate in and they dont even go near it..i think she is mad i took out the planted driftwood..
