I currently house Class N Black Bars. I am thinking about getting a couple of different varieties but I want pure endlers not hybrid.

I would need to keep the next breed in a seperate tank so as to not interfere with the black bar genes correct?

Also, anyone interested in trading black bars to help keep the genes strong?

    Thx

I could be wrong, not an Endler pro here, but there are Peacocks too. Anthony has that type as well.

I remember him saying that he keeps Black Bars and Peacocks together as the genes really dont mix. They come out as one or the other. So with that I would assume you would not need to separate.

There are several other types of Endler's. I have the Black Bars, like you, but I also have Center Peacocks. Some other types are Peacocks, Double Red Stripe, White Peacock, and various color Swords.

Black Bars and sometimes Center Peacocks can throw different color variations. I've found female Endler's to be pretty much genetically neutral. With my Center Peacocks and Black Bars in the same tank they don't create "hybrids".

Thx...will have to look at adding some peacocks to the mix.

Are you interested in a black bar exchange?

Oh okay, that's about an hour from me. Right now I only have a BB few males. I've got some beginning to color up so it will be a few weeks before I'm able to trade some.

Where did you purchase yours ?

np...have quite a few at the moment. I made them mad at me yesterday when I had to thin out some Indian Fern. :D Found quite a bit of fry hiding in there too.

I got mine from another place (can't mention another forum ;) ). They are traced back to Paul.
