    My firemouths dug a pit overnight itsunder an inch deep but around 3 inchs wide :S does this mean anything?

    Normally they spawn in areas like that.

    oooo i hope so lol :D keeping fingers crossed i just leave them alone now let them get on with it cause they swim away as soon as i walk in door lol

    my cichlids are always hiding and when i feed them they fight lol sometimes :( whats going on they were all nice n loving towards each other :(

    do you have a large enough tank for them? and do you have compatible species/sexes...sounds like a dominance issue to me. (thinking they are growing up and establishing ranking order)

    tanks good male and female female is always liplockling on male. when feeding the male chases female away lol

    depends...As with people ...fish are also unique in the "personalities" Lol.
    good if they establish a pecking order and eventually pair to breed..bad if he gets to the point of not allowing her to eat & starve--or injuring her causing disease and illness possibly leading to death.

    he lets her eat but, a flake or pellet cxomes down he goes for it but she gets it lol makes me laugh but then he chases her away. is that what your on about?

    yup, that's just typical feeding behavior?
    even in my community tank I have those that will "run" for the food as it begins to submerge...and even will "run" with the food around the tank.

    A few will try and "chase" away others allowing them to get choice flakes or whatever I'm feeding at that time first.
