    greetings everyone!

i recently bought a number of fresh water crabs and i want to hear some advice from you guys on what to do and what to avoid doing...
I filled the mini tank 1/2 fill with water( some pieces of wood above water level for them to surface). So far, they have been feeding well but i want to know if its normal for them to spend most of their time on the wood above the water surface.

any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

    ah i see
    thanks :)

btw.. i mixed 2 different species of crabs together. so far they have not fought or anything. no signs of missing legs or pincers. it shouldnt be a problem mixing them right? they are of same size (2-3cm long tip of leg to tip of leg)

i doubt my crabs would grow bigger then 7cm wide... but if they grew up together, but end up different sizes, would they fight or anything? because for now they seem to be getting along fine.

hmm..the only crabs I've seen are the ones that are sold as freshwater, but are actually brackish.
For those ones it's sand substrate for them to rake through...and access to a land area such as driftwood as you've done?

Foodwise crab bites and fry as far as my knowlege of them goes.

<--kept in past, but only very short while--as I had two which apparently were enemies since they mutilated each other in a 10g.

agrees with buzz..can find them at petco back by the reptile stuff.
I think Petsmart carries them too.
Wal-mart has those plastic like ones that lock over the tank back in the fish dept.
