You have to test your ammonia, nitrites, and nitrates to keep track of your cycling process every day. When ammonia and nitrites zero out and nitrates begin to rise, your cycle is complete. You need to be doing daily water changes to keep ammonia and nitrites down so your fish don't die. Your live rock may have some die off as well which will release A LOT of ammonia into your water.

You do have a saltwater test kit, correct ?

    Yes, that's a must have.

If you don't already have one, you'll need a hydrometer also.

You can't wait that long to get a test kit. That's something you need now.

They make a product for that but I don't think you can use it with water in the tank.
