Welcome... Research is key with Discus... BEWARE however there IS mixed advice and a fair amount that is given is not as correct as keeping discus compared to other fish (for example goldfish) is a relatively new hobby. We are all still learning about discus and for some reason much information about them is stuck back 10 years ago.

Even in my time on the board I have learned new things and changed old ideas... you HAVE to be willing with discus to do this....

BUY AT LEAST 6 DISCUS ALL AT ONCE TO START!!!!! I cant stress that enough!
IF YOU BUY YOUNGTERS ( < 4" ) Be prepared for 50% WC EVERY DAY and feeding high quality food 4-8 times A DAY in a large portion (enough for them to eat within 2-3 HOURS)

I love this site. Everyone seems friendly and helpful. I have learnt quite a bit on here already. So much more (I know) although to learn and take in! I get my new tank next week, i am buying it off a guy that is a 2 hour drive away from us  so any advice on transporting the discus will be appreciated. ;)
