    I assume this is taking into consideration gravel... Anything else that you know of ?

    A gallon of water weighs about 8.35lbs if I remember correctly.

    I too thought the same, is this just the weight of the aquarium and water or is it with decor also. I would think that if the tank has a sand substrate it would weigh much more than if it had regular gravel.

    I don't know what the dry weight of aquariums normally are. I do however know I have 40 pounds of eco complete by itself in my tank, not including the driftwood which is pretty heavy.

    it's a rough estimate of water and about 1" of substrate...just for a starting point (rough idea).
