I have Tetras too. Would the salt bother them?

Yep, that looks like fungus to me. PimaFix will treat it as well.

No, it is safer than meds. I had tetras in the tank too when I added salt. If you are that worried remove that 1 molly and treat it in its own tank. That could be better in the long run if you have an extra tank (something like a 10 gallon)

So you can tell by the picture? It hasnt spread to the rest of the tank so i'm pretty convinced that it isnt ich. How long would I treat with the PimaFix?

If you use PimaFix (I don't have the bottle in front of me now) I think it's 7 days.

Sounds right to me. And PimaFix is ok to use with the community. I think there is a half dose you have to do with the tetras present (at least there is with my FuBa Fix)

    Re: Ick or not?

It says on the bottle to do it after the 7 day treatment.

I'd do a 50% water change before adding PimaFix then treat for 7 days then do another 50% water change. If it comes back or doesn't go away completely treat for another 7 days.

Don't forget to pull any carbon out of your filters. As I stated earlier it will also pull the medicine out of your water.

    Re: Ick or not?

Here's a chart that should help identify most fish related issues. Somewhere around here I have a handbook, but now my LFS has made it available online.
    http://www.elmersaquarium.com/c107problemchart.htm
it also covers the eye cloud.

Ok, did a 50% waterchange, removed the carbon from the filter, and added the Pimafix. Wish me luck!!!

    Re: Ick or not?

Ok, so been treating for about 5 days now with Pimafix. The male black molly started to look better for a few days but now he has spots all over him. Now the female's eyes look like they are bulging out and have white on them. Any suggestions? I am considering setting up another tank to put them in...

    Re: Ick or not?

Okay, stop with the PimaFix. Get some Epsom Salt and treat the tank at 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons of water for 3+ days. Do daily water changes of 10 gallons and in that (before adding to the tank) put 2 tablespoons of Epsom Salt in that 10 gallons.

    Pop-Eye comes to mind now.

What about the white spots on the male? Will this treat that too? I am setting up a quarantine tank. Should I put them in there?

    Re: Ick or not?

No, the disease is already in the tank with all the fish. Setting up another tank that isn't cycled would only cause more stress on the fish. Pop-Eye can cause white fuzzy looking spots.

    Re: Ick or not?

I dont think so. I have a pretty big pleco, Angelfish, couple of barbs, swordtail, and some tetras... Will they handle the salt ok?
