Ich / Ick Is this Ich

    One of angels was fine last night,and today he has white spots and some are like stripes and one of the eyes has white over

    The eye does not sound like ich...

    Ich looks like the fish was salted... velvet looks like patches of white... thats why I say a pic would help

    That's not ich, it's fungus. The eye looks pretty bad too. Treat him with Pima/Melafix. That should fix the problem.

    How often are you doing water changes and what percent ?

    I just did a 30% water change a couple of day ago,I try to do it atleast once a week , most of it has come off of him now but I am going down to petsmart and get that med, Thanks

    just make sure there's no carbon in the filters before you start the meds.

    you don't have to take the filter out>>just the carbon media if you have any...the carbon will remove the meds as fast as you put them in.

    Marineland puts the carbon INSIDE the filter and you cannot just take it out (I dont know if they have a Marineland filter though.... ) Meaning without tearing apart the filter... well, you cant just take the carbon out and have to take out the whole filter pad...

    I know.. that is the BIGGEST flaw to ALL HOB Marineland products...

    Speaking of which I need to do a DIY writeup on how to "modify" the Marineland filter media to make the setup how you want... (I have NO carbon and have Peat in my Emperor.)

    I use the Top Fin filters so you can add carbon or leave it out.

    in my emperor 400 I had eheim cocoa puff balls in the grey snap trays and behind them I had purigen ;)
