The eye does not sound like ich...

Ich looks like the fish was salted... velvet looks like patches of white... thats why I say a pic would help

That's not ich, it's fungus. The eye looks pretty bad too. Treat him with Pima/Melafix. That should fix the problem.

How often are you doing water changes and what percent ?

just make sure there's no carbon in the filters before you start the meds.

you don't have to take the filter out>>just the carbon media if you have any...the carbon will remove the meds as fast as you put them in.

Marineland puts the carbon INSIDE the filter and you cannot just take it out (I dont know if they have a Marineland filter though.... ) Meaning without tearing apart the filter... well, you cant just take the carbon out and have to take out the whole filter pad...

I know.. that is the BIGGEST flaw to ALL HOB Marineland products...

Speaking of which I need to do a DIY writeup on how to "modify" the Marineland filter media to make the setup how you want... (I have NO carbon and have Peat in my Emperor.)

I use the Top Fin filters so you can add carbon or leave it out.
