    absolutely gorgeous!
    Looks like an electric? I remember when i had mine how colorful they were. Nice nice specimen you got there!

    He does look liek an electric but is just a plain guy (so to speak). I almost got an electric blue when I was there and it was $50 for a 1 1/2 inch fish! I just could not risk it at the time. He was 1 in and $7 ...LOL!! Now he is about 5 1/2 inches now.

    I think he's an electric...too colorful for a reg one imo.
    Can't beat it for $7 and yeah...electric's here go for over $50

    I had the same luck at petsmart once. they had a really nice parrot fish that was over 4" priced for $3 something. At that size, everyone else would have wanted $15min for him.
    Gotta love the screwups!

    Heck yeah. I have also gotten a few "deals" at the LFS. The 2 Green Sevs were bought for $60 for the pair and they are about 7 inches.

    jewel cichlids comes from the west african rivers and not from the lakes. they can be housed with some ca/sa because there water parameters are close to the same. here is a link that can explain it better than i can :
